I want to drop the oil pan on my 185. I am starting to remove front axle assy for more room. I'm not sure about that front pin. does it go out the front or go towards to back? Is there a circlip holding that pin in place? Any help on this would be appreciated. Regards, Bobjones

I was told to slide out the entire casting out of the front end not take the pin out. Just have to make sure the frame rails are supported.

The pin hole usually has a worn ridge to where pin won't come out. Removing front assy. Makes the job easier. MACK

The pin comes out the rear.... If I remember right, there is a snap ring and then your thread a slide hammer in and hammer it out. When I worked at an AGCO Allis dealer we just rolled the front end forward as an assembly. I once did a 190 without removing the front end but it was very tight to get the pan out.

To get the pan out of ours i took the 4 bolts out where the front axle frame bolts to the trans housing, took pan bolts out, jacked up passenger side of front axle and turned and slid the pan out from driver side. With the 4 bolts out of the front axle frame you can get enough room to get the pan out. It's tight but doable
