Hi guys-My 7020 needs a new engine and a person has a 1800 hr non-intercooled 301 available.   This engine is probably out of a combine.

How hard is it to move the intercooler parts from my tractor over to the non-intercooled engine?

Please let me know your thoughts...thanks.

What engine are you trying to buy??   In order to be even close to what you want to do, it needs to be 130 HP with a DM-4 injection pump from a 1977 or newer M2/L2 combine. Anything else is just a 301 and will be a lot more work.

301's are not the most expensive engines, nor complicated, to rebuild.  Unless the combine engine is super low hours and dirt cheap, it's hard to justify a swap.  Probably half the labor of the rebuild is just getting the engine out and stripped and accessories reassembed.  If the lower bores are eaten up, they can be bored and sleeved.
