273 block from a Cockshutt 50 using AC 262 crank will get you close to that. Can also bore the 273 block a little bit.

273 bored block diesels were used in the Allis TL-12 loaders and Industrial equipment. Have one with spun rod bearing that we swapped out for a 262 gas. Intend on using the 262 crank from our D19 Gas to build a bigger cube turbo diesel. Never heard of a 301 though.

Many people still refer to the 301 and 426 as Buda engines, even though those were built long after AC bought the Buda engine division. They may have been on the drawing boards at Buda though! Who knows!

A-C bought Buda in 1953. The 301 and 426 were released in 1964 and 1963 respectively. I think all the Buda Engineers were retired (or dead) by then.

I have an Allis Scope or quarterly magazine they put out ; one was focused on the new Harvey Engine plant ; seems when Allis bought it , there wasnt assembly lines etc and Allis was wanting to grow- interesting things they done in the NEW Allis engines on the board
