Just mulling around the idea of watching for a loader to put on a 190xt. It would be used for loading round baler on wagon to remove them from the field. Heard horror stories about tractors breaking the center castings and I don't wanna do that. Any ideas?

Don’t know the sizes of round bales you are moving as that could change my opinion. If 1000 pounds, the AC 500 is nice in my opinion because it attaches to rear axle. There are heavier loaders out there, but would want something with same basic design. Hardest part on loader tractor is driving across a rough field with bale bouncing of the front. IMO the XT with a loader kind of waste a good tractor from other work so you may want to look at a quick change set up.

Thanks, the Bale's are four and five foot size. Around 1200 to 1500 lb. We make wrapped silage Bale's off the alfalfa fields and some Timothy/clover Bale's. I have two 190's but would like to pull the loader off when it's not used for haying.

Keep the bucket size 4 ft- and bale size small, 1200 max- that West Allis metal is getting fatqued- and breaks real easy

I have a loader on a 180 and a 185 and have done some pretty rough and heavy work with the 180 in particular with no problem. That said with the shiftter on a 190 I'd hate to have to use a loader on one very much.

I've used a loader on my 190XT for years with no problems other than breaking a spindle due going too fast across a rough field. I mostly move hay with it. The size of the bucket has no bearing on the issue. Westendorf recommends a WL-42. I think a WL-21 would work good for the weight you are moving. There are a number of Bush Hog loaders that would work well. Check the specs an look at the recommended HP. Go with middle or upper part of the range.
