My first memory of a our Gleaner collection was an "A" machine with a "MEADE" (I believe) aftermarket cab with a little heater to the right of the seat on the floor  . What series of machines did ALLIS/Gleaner produce their own cabs ??

| Late 60's with K and F for sure because they had the massive piano type hinge at the front so you could fold the cab forward to lower hauling height, by using the throat to lower and raise back up the cab structure. |

Grandpa had an E, maybe 64 0r 65 model year with a cab. Don't know if it was factory installed or installed by the dealer, but it had a unique though rather useless feature that allowed the roof to be raised by the use of a spring loaded handle mechanism on each side near the roof with the hinge at the back by the grain tank. I don't remember him ever raising it, so I don't know how high it raised, and only assumed that it was so the operator could raise the roof to allow standing up during operation, or maybe it was for ventilation. Doesn't answer the original question, but just came to mind when combine cabs were mentioned.

I believe the 1968 Gleaner F & G were among the 1st gleaner mfg cabs. They were all “Flat windshield” & offered with the tilt forward option -like DrAllis mentioned earlier. Earlier aftermarket cabs included Stopler, Cozy Cab, Full vision, & others.
