Went to start the backhoe after setting for 2 months.. No fire.. Crank, crank, crank.. Nothing.. Pulled the distributor cap and rotor cap. Cleaned the point, retry, cleaned the point a second time.. No fire......... Pulled  a couple spark plugs and very very faint spark.. They were 10 year old AC plugs.... Went to shop and grabbed a  couple spare lawn mower plugs and stuck in the plug wire and grounded for a test.. Still very little spark... Figured the coil was next on the list.. Stole a 15 year old coil off the old ALLIS B and put on the CASE. ( CASE had a 10 year or CHINA unit) .. Spark about  5 times bigger.. Still not what i would LIKE to see.. Cleaned the old AC plugs, put back in and it fired off on 3-4 cranks with full choke.

Ordered a new 12 v coil and  4 new NGK 2910 plugs for next week maintenance.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

May be a dumb question but how did the end of the coil wire look? Corrosion in the hole?

NO... keep it in the shed.... Didnt see any corrosion on wires.. Plug were a little black.. This was a "corn field" fined about 12 years ago.. I rebuilt the motor with new liners / pistons / rings/ turned crank / bearings/ valve job/ etc.. Bought plugs and coil at that time, but NOT the best quality.  Probably has 4-500 hours on rebuild.

Nice looking rig. That should last a long time time as a casual use machine
