I am begging for a detailed summary of how I correctly remove the injection pump from my 200. Before I even start what is the easiest way of getting #1 cylinder at TDC on compression stroke? I know how with a spark plug removed but was hoping to not have to remove injectors. I did the XT years ago twice and would like to do this once 😆Thanks, DANA .

Remove timing cover on side of pump. When the two lines line up, you are at point to remove pump. Remove all lines from pump, unhook throttle and shutoff cables. Injection line clamps will need to be unhooked. Remove two nuts holding pump to front late and work it back through lines. MACK

So to get a number one on TDC you have to bump the starter until the lines are close and then the only way I know how to get it on line is the fan belt and fan? I know from experience if you tweak the fan blade ever so slightly your future holds disaster with the radiator when that trweakedn fan blade let’s go!

Don't know if it works on 100 series but I rotate engine on 7XXX'S using ratchet and socket on balancer bolt.

Just grab a fan blade and hold the belt tight on the pully with your other hand while you push or pull the fan blade with your had on it. These engines turn over pretty easy I find

Not sure if the 200 is the same as a 180/185, but on the 180/185 you can access the ring gear through a hole in the bottom of the bell housing. You can use a large screwdriver or pry bar to turn the engine slowly by the ring gear until you get a perfect alignment of the lines in the injection pump.

Sounds good on my XT I think 10 years ago when I reinstalled the pump I think I tweaked the fan blade and probably 200 hours later shortly after I put a brand new radiator in it that fan blade flew forward through the brand new radiator!

I think you can get an open end wrench right on the front pulley, at least a 190XT can, maybe 200 has deeper pulley having dual fan belts.
