I feel your pain Dave. Paid one off a few weeks ago. Traded for another right after. Don't pay attention to the d#$&head responses. It's what we do when we love our wives.

Getting to that point going to need to look for the next mortgage purchase!!

My first home was less $$$ than a new car these days.

My accountant wants to let her Grand Am go for an Enclave. She's not willing to shell out what they want for one these days, so I'm lucky? Currently debt free but there is a chunk of property we'd like to aquire

Well, when I got married, there were 3 candles at the altar. 2 small ones were lit, a large one in the center was not. Then, my wife and I took the two small candles, and together we lit the large one in the center which is way bigger than the two of them put together. It burned brighter than our two little flames, which we then extinguished. That is called the Unity Candle. The two of us have been one, stronger than the sum of the parts, since October 22, 1988. And we still have the candle.

What’s mine is hers, what’s hers is mine, whether it’s groceries, the electric bill, or a car payment. And THATS the way it is up here, in my house.

I have been married 44 years yesterday. We have had our ups and downs like most successful families have! My wife a few years ago wanted a foreign made car and their were 2 dealers, one in Ann Arbor and one in Toledo both equal 80 miles from home. She was working then now retired. I said nothing and let her make the deal. I even returned it to Toledo for service and warranty work. Since the car is now off warranty I found a local mechanic who works on the make of car as his wife has one! You learn to pick your battles and back up your strategy with facts! But even with facts you suffer defeat now and then!

Yep...We walked into this knowing it was an unknown situation how it would go. For life, death do us part.
Hasn't always been easy, balance each other out, talk is a big key for us.
You want something, weigh it out together. Give it a week and see if you really want it.
And you do pick your battles and you don't have to win. Look at both sides.
More to it than that but yeah.

Yep, several years ago wife wanted a Ford Flex, I told her if that's what she wanted we'd find one but it sure looks to me like it should come with a coffin inside already.  She ended up with an Enclave, not an awful decision but when it come time to replace it, she asked me to find something because she didn't think her last decision was a good one.  I made three suggestions, we looked at them and she still made the final decision.  She drives it, I see to it it's worked on and we paid for it.

Happy Wife, Happy Life!!!

By what you just said, I would say you are incorrect. But maybe I’m missing your inflection.

Last new car I bought my wife was in 1988. She got 3 parking lot dings the first week after 3 weeks I bought her a beater to drive to work ( 1973 BMW 2002 ) after 12 years she sold her new car with 45000 miles on it she liked the beater better. Here last 2 beaters have been AWD astro vans. 270k miles on the first and 170k miles so far on the second. I've offers a new car but she hasn't found one she likes yet.

@Tbone95, fixer 1958; Well said gentlemen. My lovely bride and I have always operated the same way. Once married, there is no mine, there is no hers, there is only ours.
