wondering which kind you think is best

I tend to use mostly Wix, (Wix is locally available with a great dealer) some Baldwin or Hastings, & Motorcrafts (Motorcraft for our Ford)

I put on hundreds of oil filters while we had our business. NAPA gold were heavier than all other brands. The only problem we ever saw, the dang gaskets stick to the block.

Wix  is certainly one of the better ones. Napa gold is made by wix.

The only vehicle I routinely change myself is our class A motorhome. Most of the time I get the Motorcraft, or a Wix.
At work, 95% of the filters on the trucks, and frac equipment have Baldwin, with a few Donaldson thrown in.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Filters is like arguing about oil or trucks... All the BRAND NAMES are comparable. A lot depends on what your local supplier sells or where you shop.

I do buy FORD filters for our vehicles. Had troubles 20 years ago with one ticking on startup.. The FORD had anti drain back valve in it.. Fixed the TICK.. Never changed back to anything else.

-------------
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Wix, Baldwin, Hastings are the top manufactures. Wix markets under a lot of different names. So does Fram. Non of them make all their own filters. They source certain types from others. Baldwin supplies alot of of hydraulic filters to other manufactures.

I have been using Fram for years and have not had any troubles.  I even got a bunch for my AC's.

Believe it or not, I get a GENUINE MOTORCRAFT 820S filter at my local Walmart or the Rural King for $ 3.97 Wink

For my farm equipment I use either Wix or Baldwin whichever my supplier has in stocks. For our car and truck I take them to a local Mechanic Garage to change oil. Too low for me to crawl under!

Worked as a mechanic some 20+ years, would not install a FRAM on a bet.  Would cut filters open as a engine failure occurred where a great deal of FRAM or other Cheap filters failed the inspections.

I use Baldwin, WIX, Motorcraft(Ford Sold) and CAT branded filters, for heavier later machines FLEETGUARD is another.  Used AC(GM Line) for a long time but unable to get them locally anymore and Goodwrench seems to be the replacement name.
