I do my post via my IPhone so I can choose the size of the picture. The thing I can’t figure is every so often it flips the picture sideways? Not sure if that is the website or my phone causing that? Nice tractors!!!

Then select ok, wait a min, then cancel. You then have an option to review or just post. That is from my I-phone

yea, when you click the TREE... then go to the left side BOTTOM of the page and click "CHOOSE FILE"... it should look at YOUR COMPUTER ( phone) and show the pictures available... On a computer, you might have to choose the desktop or file location where you store the photos. .............. you dont need the WEB address on the top right.
If my photo ends up showing as width 1200 and height 1000, then i change those to (half) and get 600 x 500.....
If your PHOTO is like 5000 x 3000, this site may not upload that... you have to open your photo in PAINTBRUSH or similar and resize it to 800 x 600 .... not sure how you do that on some phones................. thats the problem.. most new phones take 5000 x 3000 pixel photos that are 7 MB of data.... Computers dont like that... They want photos of 800 x 600 that are only 50K of data.

Posting pictures on this site is so aggravating!!! Why is it so difficult? I know I am comparing apples to oranges but the Facebook orange pages are easy as can be. Ryan

The photos I take with my phone are then texted to myself. It resized them for the message and then downloaded to a file in the photo album. The size works for this forum so I can upload easily using the steps above

I've never had a problem 'posting' pictures BUT maybe I'm doing it all wrong ?? 1st I 'upload' my picture using the 'file manager' in 'Member Control Panel',so it's stored on the forum's computer 2nd, when I want to 'post' that picture, I use the 'green icon thing' to select it from my 'file of photos. THEN I resize to 640x480, which is old skool VGA size, 800x600 also should work.
My gut's telling me that most problems are in trying to DIRECTLY post from camera/smart device TO the message. Pictures MUST be smaller than 2MB(?),so you need to resize BEFORE uploading/posting.

I think maybe that was the point I was trying to make. I struggled with resizing and found texting to myself made the process easier for me

Its not hard to post photos once you get the hang of it.. I have a few hundred photos in the File Manager on this site.. 80 MB... and i have deleted hundreds of photos a couple times for extra storage space... but i post a LOT of photos and use a Computer.
on the advertisements, it really dont bother me.. Some are amusing, some i dont really even look at or notice. All sites are different and SOMEHOW they have to be paid for to keep them site on line... Ignore them if you dont like it... I have seen sites where the advertisements just pop up constant and you cant go thru the site to read.... This site is WAY BETTER than most sites i see.

An easy way to resize is to post photo on Facebook. Photo is automatically resized. Save photo from Facebook on your phone or PC. Then post that photo that was saved onto this site. Easiest way I have found. Posting photos has always tedious at best on here. Much easier on Facebook and other sites. Would love to see improvements on this site, but realize that is most likely not going to happen. If anyone thinks Darrin is getting rich off of this site you are mistaken. Can't be cheap to operate. I can deal with the adds and pop-ups. My hope is that this site will continue to go on . Am actually surprised that Darrin hasn't started an Unofficial AllisChalmers Facebook page . Much less work. Brett Dallman and Larry Wilson's AllisChalmers Facebook page has over 50,000 following . Only way this place continues is Darrin keeping things in the black . Buy something on 3000 toys , donate, post often and most importantly ,,, CONTRIBUTE!!! MONEY OR INFORMATION, hopefully both

So to review a bit if it helps anyone. I am using iPad and getting the pic from photo library on same iPad. I chose the photo. It shows the size of the photo at bottom of pic. Tap that size icon with your finger and it gives you the choice of small, medium or large. Make your choice and tap “use” at top rt. Rest seems to flow on its own. I bet I tried dozen times to post. Wouldn’t work on medium size but worked on large?? Lol. The downsize seems to be the key.

I have NEVER had a problem posting pics, but I use Irfan View. I think I wrote of it in the original post when that stupid site..... "Photo Bucket" held us all up. They sure shot themselves in the foot... Anyhow Irfan View is the SIMPLEST FREE thing there is to use. If I can figure out how to use it, ANYBODY can. If you are having problems, PM me and i"ll lead you through it. You can take a pic and make a black and white out of it with one click. resize in one click...I can't tell you all the things you can do with this SIMPLE FREE prog.

It isn't often, but sometimes I have to go back and look to find 'how to' and the pics are gone. There HAS to be a better way so we can preserve those old threads and pics...

I am pleased Darrin is not on facebook. 50,000 folks follow Brett, but he picks and chooses. He kicked me off. He never told me why.
