Its been a long time ago But I think I used silicon adhesive caulk, It may just have been what I had at the time. Probably could get some good 3M stuff from the car parts store.

Black or yellow 3M weather-strip adhesive. Get things positioned properly to set and cover with wax paper. Install a seed disc and tighten it up. Let dry for a couple of days and peel the wax paper off.

Make sure the metal galvanized ring is flat and clean of old cement.   We do as Doc sez using talc or graphite lightly rubbed on the wax paper and then use talc or graphite to help prevent seed pad wear. Storing the hoppers inside helps life as well.... mice are kryptonite..   A little know item is Landoll made cast aluminum seed hoppers - if anyone finds any in salvage - don't let them go !  We sold probably 50 to retro fit 385's.  A great update..
