I have an ad30 waiting on service manual, does anybody know what oil to use in all the gear boxs? I can't find any info on web ,thanks

On my old Adams grader I used 600W steam cylinder oil from Mobile - used it in most gearboxes in production job I had and figured it was easy to obtain back then and worked well

600W Oil was used in Model A transmissions, differentials and steering boxes when they were first manufactured. It was the oil weight of Henrys choice and it must have done its job as so many Model As have survived till today. ... Transmissions and rear differentials were using 90 weight.

FWIW

For an AC 45 the lift boxes use SAE 90 EP non-corrosive

Transmission and drive above 32 F SAE 50 engine oil, SAE 30 if below

Power control box SAE 30 engine oil

i agree with Ian on the original spec.......

... and the ISO 600 cylinder oil that COKE mentions, is equivalent to SAE 140 gear lube.

-..50 wt engine oil ( WITHOUT ADDATIVES) is the same viscosity as SAE 90 gear lube.

I think using 90wt gear lube in all the boxes, might be a good idea this day and age.

i run 80-90 in diff and blade gearbox on my 145T. the transmission i run hy-tran because it has a pump and filter, dont know if the older models have that.

600W is rated 90wt and rated for gearboxes - but is a little more expensive than automotive 90wt - then supplier I got industrial products from had some good deals back then for all the products I bought for industrial use - Same as DTE oils I used in compressors , hydraulic units and other areas that called for a high grade lubricant .
I used the DTE Light in snow plows also as it had a good flow rate in MINUS temps

use the mineral oil 90 weight and not the EP 90 weight for original spec. i am unsure if the transmission has any yellow metal in it or not so just be safe.
