I’m going to ask a question that’s probably been beat up on here more times than not. Has anyone had any luck getting a 7000 series tractor to shift better by changing the park lock cable? My 7020 absolutely does not like going from hi/low to park. I’ve trued adjusting the cables every which way I can and no luck. I put a new range cable on but haven’t done the park lock yet but am about to give it a try.

New cables properly adjusted ALWAYS work better, but that doesn't mean there isn't parts worn out in the shifting cover itself. Tractors that are used less for heavy field work seem to get more PARK use and there is a piece in the shift cover that gets worn out.

Yes. A carrier (70265542) and a plunger (70265348). I assume both are still available from AGCO. The carrier is what shifts the rail into and out of Park. There is a notch on it that the gearshift tail fits into and the notch gets badly worn.
These parts are what you go for AFTER new cables and have properly adjusted them.

A 70514773 spring added to linkage in bottom of console will help. MACK

I've also seen tractors with missing console sides and on the black chassis models, like a 7020, missing a brace between the console side and the floor (next to diff lock pedal). All these missing parts contribute to a park position that doesn't work well.

Dr. Allis thank you! That main issue when going from high/low to park is it feels like it jams between them then it’s a bear to get it in-jammed. If I leave it in neutral it goes into low and high all day just fine.

Well, that is kind of how they act when the small cable is stiff/maladjusted and/or the carrier is worn badly inside the range transmission. Think of a tractor that mainly gets used for field work only. How many times in an 8 hr day does the tractor ever get shifted into park ?? Now think of another identical tractor that grinds feed, runs a baler, pulls wagons in from the field and on and on. How many times in an 8 hr day did it get shifted into park?? MANY more times.

I looked in my I&T manual today for the small park lock cable adjustment but didn’t find anything in it. Maybe I should order the factory reprint service manual if it’s a bit more thorough.

Not even sure the oem service manual covers that. It's simple: the lever in the cab has to move the lever under the cab floor far enough to the left to get it into the park lug notch. Old cables are stiff and high effort. To enter into the park lug notch you are compressing a spring. If the cable is old and stiff and the linkage dry and worn, you won't get it done in the distance provided on the console gate. Be gentle installing a new park cable. If you wrestle with it and kink it, it will not work as well as it could have.
