What should I expect to pay for used black belly steps to put on my 7050? Is there a better option like K&M steps? How do they compare, to those of you that have had both? Thanks

Don't know if good or not but gave $100 for one I put on 7060. I know others I've asked were much higher but one outfit in particular is pretty pricey.

Not sure if you can do fab work, I made steps for my 7040 and 7050.. I did take the black belly set off my 7045 to copy when making the others.
Haven't got them on yet but they are so much nicer.

May I "assume" you have a local welding shop in your neighborhood?? Give them some "specs" on what your looking for and you might be pleasantly surprised  on the $$/quality WinkWink JMO

K & M never used to be as good as factory black belly steps. Don't know about today. They were better than the maroon chassis steps.

I have a 7040 that someone welded up a set of steps for. Crude, but with 3 steps it ain't bad. My beef with it is they are not evenly spaced.

For $100 or less just go to a wrecker and get the steps.

This is my 7050:

Some complained early on that they caught a lot of mud. But, after using them awhile, most decided they were functional enough to deserve a cleaning once in a while. The change to the smaller/flatter steering wheel was done at the same time and made a huge difference in getting in and out of the command center.

I can weld myself. Did it for a short while as a living even. I just wanted to know what a used black belly step might cost and how it might compare to the steps from K&M. That's all but thanks.

Just had recent back and hip surgery so was looking for something to make it easier to get into the tractor. I think for a $100 or so the used black belly steps would be the way to go. I think it might be cheaper than buying the metal and building a set.

I don't believe I have ever paid more than $125 for a fair set of 70xx black belly steps, and if memory serves that price came with the bracket underneath.

Trouble is distance but it sounds like just what I'm after. Let me know what you want for it. Have a 7030 that needs a set too but not in such a hurry as I am for the 7050.

How do they compare to the Allis steps? Are they stair type like the Allis? Are they Allis?
