Law of supply/demand here, prices went up usage went way down, price stabilized where the station owners here say use has not yet increased so will sit at this level at least until oil per barrel goes up again.  Cousins stated more storage going up in refinery tank farms, having to store more as demand waned.

Remember the state gas taxes also can have an impact on the price.

The Truck driver shortage began some ten years ago
As kids avoided skills level jobs for college being pushed by educators to work with their minds only

We receive what they pushed for
No one to do day to day necessity jobs.

Actually IS a Driver Shortage, Not one single trucking company is at full staff, most are down anywhere from 10-30% of workforce they once had and still have adds everywhere asking for applicants that do not arrive.

In 2017 were just over 17,000 shortfall, 2019 that was over 60,000, currently at over 80,000 and climbing.

I know there is,I sold out and retired a year ago April, 46 years as an owner operator, the last 10 years seemed twice as long as the first 36, the shortage of drivers was self inflicted by letting sales departments run operations, insane discounts on freight, lease purchase programs, not to mention a high handed DOT. Bottom line is they did it to themselves, you want to pay peanuts expect monkeys.I was extremely disliked by sales departments and brokers, I had no problem saying no to heavy and or cheap loads.

CDL drivers in this area are in very high demand. I talked to a guy a while back that had about 100 trucks. He said he cut down 20 trucks (they haul mostly produce) because he couldn't get dependable CDL drivers.

Hauling fuel is worse because you have to have Haz-Mat and tanker endorsements. A lot of drivers don't want to haul Haz-Mat.

On a side note, I saw regular for $2.88 this evening on the NW side of South Bend IN. at a PILOT station
