RE: B&C,CA with Marvel-Shebler carburetors.
In looking through the parts books, I see the B&C used Marvel-Shebler
TSX-154 or TSX-305, the CA used the TSX-486.
Is there much difference between them?  Interchangeable?
Do any of them have an adjustable main jet?
Thanks.

Brian, someone may have more SPECIFICS for you... all i can say is all the carbs are interchangable between the B, C, CA .......... the very early B had a 116 inch motor, and later B, all C and the CA had the 125 inch motor.. Engine speed was increased also a couple hundred RPM... So if you had a very early carb off a B and put on a CA, you might need the next size jet, or do some adjusting ............. and you know that MOST of the B and C tractors used ZENITH carbs.. But there was a short period one or two years where the MS was used... probably availability problems.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I think most of the number changes were "upgrades" over the years...Drain added to the bowl, petcock drain instead of plug... etc.... nothing major.

Is it a clean and easy swap MS to Zenith or the other way?
There is the governor rod, choke rod, air cleaner hookup, fuel inlet and the manifold bolts. Is all that  the same?

I have moved a couple from tractor to tractor.. Dont remember having any big problems in remounting the rods... inlet and flange bolt face are the same.

There isn't any problems with linkage. I changed my 48' B over from a Zenith to a Marvel TSX154. I did it for a comparison between the two Carburetors. Didn't see any difference in performance or throttle response, although I do like the M/S carbs a little better. The 154, & 305 for the B/C applications do not have an enrichment adjusting needle on them probably due to the small engine vs the wieght of the Tractor. They have a fixed jetting system. The TSX159, or 422 for the bigger 201 engines (WC,WD,WF) do have the enrichment adjusting needle on them that extends through the top of the fuel bowl.  HTH
