OK,,I'm to the point of getting back to a project that I had on back burner and want to finish up to maybe clear up some space around here,,,, Some time back I cobbed on to a Massey Ferguson TO20 with the Z120 4 cylinder gas engine. The Lady's Grandpa bought the tractor new and had it all it's life until one day he was messing with the carb and the throttle hung open and knocked a rod thru the side of the block,,,,!!! He let it set for many years til he gave it to his Granddaughter. She sold it to me as She made me promise to repair it instead of going to melting pot,,,,
I took and cut a piece of old cast pump, trimmed and matched it to the hole in block and welded it up in small sections with some special arc welding rod recommended here,, always keeping the rest of block hot while welding. The repair came out Great and after grinding excess slag looked even better!!! I used diesel to check for leaks and none found!!
I had to look all over the country for an intake/exhaust manifold as they had "Lost It",,so I'm bout ready to start getting parts for the overhaul.
Does anybody know of a vender of Massey Ferguson parts?? Another thing,,I have never liked those huge front wheels and little bitty tires on the Ford 8&9's or these on the massey,,, ,,altho,,I have seen pics of some of this style tractors with regular style wheels and regular tires,,,??? Anybody know??

Are you sure it’s not a TO30? The TO20 had a Z120 engine.

Agco has some Massey Ferguson parts. Not sure how far back they go. I got water pump and bunch of stuff for an MF175 last year from dealer. That is a newer model tho.

TO20 and TO30 is Ferguson. Not Massey Ferguson. Pre merger. Was it made in England, USA or Canada. Any tags left on it? They are a fun little tractor. Hope you get it working. 😀

Hey Ed,,Many THANKS for the interest,,,,Here's the numbers on the block and the tag.
Casting numbers on Btm of left side are Z120 A 600 PP. B82 under those numbers. On the engine tag is SN E148136. on Btm of tag are these characters,,011 011 20 30. On the tag on dash, numbers are SER. TO-50432. Tag has several patent numbers both USA and Canadian .
Btm of that tag is HARRY FERGUSON INC Detroit MICH, USA.
I guess you are correct,,there is no mention of Massey anywhere,,, Do you know which wheels some people use instead of those BUTT UGLY big wheels and the very small tires,,,???

Sorry I don’t know much about them but we had lots of them up here in Canada. Lots of the little Ford’s as well. Many small farmers here up here went from horses to the fergie or Ford as their first tractor. Worked well for the small farms. Dad started farming with a Farmall “A”. Said he didn’t know anything horses and didn’t want to learn.

Tramway. He did say it had a z120 engine. I think that should be a continental engine. It looks like it is a 1951 model. 1951 ranged from serial 39163 to 60,000. We had a 1964 MF35 gas with continental engine. Massey and Ferguson had merged by then.

hey Joe,, if the front wheels are 5 or 6 lug rims,, a lot of the farm replacement places have generic wheels that will fit in whatever width you want, the tractor/implement wheel are fairly standardized,, just mostly need center hole size, how many lugs,4,5,or 6, backspacing,(some vendors show how to measure this)these places also have engine parts I'd check with All States Ag Parts,, better known as ASAP Steiner tractor parts Shoup there are prolly a lots more,, hopefully others will chime in...

I use Yesterday’s Tractors for tractor parts. Pretty easy to order and they shipped to your house all while sitting in your recliner at 9 o clock at night.
