I posted this in the shows and events section, but a lot of people don't routinely visit that section.

I really hate to report this, but I just found out today that the Madrid NY GOTO for June 2021 has been cancelled. With the status of the pandemic and the USA/Canada border closed, with no opening date in sight, the decision to close was made.

Al Garrand is doing some negotiating to try to get another date, but it probably won't be this year.

If there is any news, I will post it. There are a lot of disappointed people around here !!!

Well, I'd rather see disappointed people, than people who disappeared because of the Covid 19 virus. Some people wind up in a dirt bed depending on how it effects them. Its a nasty dangerous disease.  I'd rather see folks the following year........                                Steve@B&B

Thanks for understanding Steve. I agree with you 100% ! I would much rather cancel than feel we were responsible for someone having lasting health problems or worse.

I did get some backlash when I posted it in one of the Facebook AC sites. Some people just don't take this thing very seriously !

Hoping we can get a future date (in my lifetime) !!!

We planned on attending this year, but maybe its better to give this thing some time to iron out. Hopefully, we can deal with this virus like other virus' cause its here to stay it looks like. Let's hope these vaccines help folks out and we can get by and deal with this like other virus'... It would be great to get back to "Normal" again.  These masks are getting old just like me.....  Unhappy

I'm sorry the GOTO had to be cancelled - twice.  Yikes! That's bad luck. Seriously, a 66 year old retired nurse from my home town recently died of COVID. I had it last November. It's not a joke.  I hope that the Madrid GOTO gets rescheduled & is a great success.

Too bad for the club, the town, & surrounding area.  GOTO's bring in a lot of money for the local economies.

The show has been rescheduled for the same weekend in 2023. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Dusty

I had my second immunization about 3 weeks ago.

My wife, who is a retired RN, is volunteering doing immunizations for our county. They are doing about 200 per day, which is pretty good for a small county (population 51,600).

I hope everyone gets immunized and we can get this behind us and get back to "normal".
