The 7000's front plate is leaking at the back gasket again, point to the dowel holes being worn too far to hold the plate steady.  I saw Leon's post on having bushing put into the plate for an 8050.  Is this possible to do on the 7000?  If so, can these holes be located off of the timing cover so the whole motor doesn't have to go?  Additionally, has anyone tried using an oversize/metric dowel and just reaming the hole larger?

Second question.  My memory is foggy, but I replaced the gaskets with the engine/front end/radiator in the tractor by modifying a 3 bolt puller to get the front pulley off.  I cannot remember if the cam gear was a problem or not.  Do the later cam gears come on and off in a way that the cam can be left in the engine.  I seem to remember using the bolt hole and stacks of washers to get it back on?
