Today I installed the rings I bought 5 years ago for my '48 B.  With a measured bore of .379 I have an end gap of over .035.  Does someone make rings for a small overbore that I could file to fit?

Thanks

your original bore was 3.375 inch so you are looking for rings that fit 3.385 ( or .010 over) that you can file.... Im not sure there are rings listed for "ALLIS" as most people will bore to the 3-7/16 oversize with new pistons and rings..... There are other engines that have 3.385 inch bore rings if you want to check them out... also note some are cast, some are chrome, some are 1/8 thick , some a 3/32 inch thick..... GOOD LUCK.

put a standard ring in the bore 1/4 inch down from the top and measure end gap... then push it down 2 inches and measure again.. If the bore is tapered, you might PINCH the ring at the bottom when it fits good at the top... That can be a problem.. You can HONE the cylinder to get the bottom a little bigger if you really want to go this way.. Use a proper hone to get straight cut.
