Where is the best place to look for backhoe parts? For example gauges, starter, transmission, and hydraulic parts? Also, best place to buy engine parts? It’s a Perkins inline 4 cyl. Any help is appreciated

the AC 816 used a AC engine  from my knowledge , the 715 used a Perkins 236 - 4 cylinder

I’ve got a service manual for it and it shows a Perkins 4.248 engine

So many parts for the 816 are found in and on other industrial equipment. Therefore it helps to search the brands on each component rather than searching for '816 parts' as direct listings are simply harder to trace being they were made around 40 to 50 years ago. Like the starter for example if you get the number off of it you will have a much easier time tracking a replacement or individual parts. You can find gauges that fit but they may no have the AC logo on them. The forward reverser is a Borg Warner, the rear end is Rockwell, the hyd. pump is a Commercial Shearing, the engine being a Perkins 248 is not hard to find parts for as they were widely used in many applications.

had a hard time finding the steering pump. The shuttle is a WG. not a borg werner hard to find parts for. I rebuilt mine the forward clutch is hard to come by. The engine is a Perkins. The main hydraulic pump is a expensive one to rebuild. The shift cable is hard to come by. I sold mine last year for $5500. just got tired of the scavenger hunt. and the expensive parts.

What model year was your 816? The two I had were made in 1970 and they both had Borg Warner forward reverser.
