Hey everyone. I just wanted to give everyone an update on the transmission and to ask for help as to what I am looking at. It turns out it was not the power director making the noise, but rather some teeth broke off, and it looks like it was starting to take out a bearing.

Would anyone be able to provide insight on the gear that had teeth break on it? I am always a curious guys, and was wondering what the gear actual went to? Did it run the low side of the transmission? Was its job to transfer power from the engine to another part of the transmission? The reason I am curious is because it looked like it bolted up to something.

Are teeth breaking off normal in this transmission? We have had the tractor for 8 years, and use it mainly to pull a 24 foot disc 3 inches in the ground which I thought it could handle on hilly ground in western Iowa.

Thanks for any replies!
