I have decided that I am putting another 426 in my 7045. I am exploring my options and besides rebuilding my engine, I have thought about swapping in another running one. I’ve found an engine out of a 7050 that has been out of a tractor for a few years. It has new injectors and a new pump with around 300 hours on it. I know a 7050 was aftercooled and the 7045 was not. Are there any other major difference or changes that were made to the engine between the two models? Thanks for the continued help!

I have a 426 with a intercooler on it i have more power than i have tires i guess the thing i wonder about with a engine with a intercooler on it is if you have a big enough radiator for it?

The 7045 and 7050 each list a different part number for the radiator so the 7050 might have a thicker core.

You can detune the 3700 engine or you can remove the intercooler if you like I suppose.

Be careful as dont your 7045 have a Power Shift? That may be the next rebuild !

Yes it is a power shift. Is the power shift in a 7060 heavier than the one in a 7045? Thanks!

If possible, swap the 7050 radiator/engine into the 7045 & you’ll create a 7060 minus 5hp. 7060 162hp. 7050 157hp. 7045 147hp. 7045’s drive train is identical to 7050/7060 - 4 pinion diff, 2.55”ring gear,4 diff lock plates,2”finals,& 3.75”axles(7045/7060). Exceptions: 7050 had 3.625”axles & no power shift trans.

7045 radiator is inadequate on intercooled engines on a HOT DAY. So, as long as you never use the engine at 100% load on days hotter than 70 degrees F, you'll probably be fine.
