found a rare 718 with overhead valves.. kind of rough but runs and has no issue with valve seats. Customer wants 800,,,, ------------- When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money.. |

Is your 718 a member of the larger 716 and 720 Series or is it a member of the smaller 710 and 712 Series? G |

| I overhauled my 718H last year it cost me around 1500 to do. I did everything to it new piston valves rod and all machine work. |

| what about balance gears and shafts ? it seems to me that if they are not replaced on those old k engines they just dont last that long any more now that they have a zillion hours on the blocks and cranks |

The 718, 716, 712 and 710 are all the same size (Kohler singles). 718's have a collector following, but I can't see $800 for even a decent one. I got $700 for the one I had, but it was an extremely nice, all orginal, good running machine, with deck and optional rear lift.
