Here are a couple of pics of my neighbors D19  The mounting bracket is a flat bar with the alternator mount welded on to and it's bolted to the frame rail.  The upper adjusting bracket is the original.

There is a cs130 saddle mount that can be a one wire or not that works great and you don’t even hurt the sheet metal

That vertical strap probably has another bolt at the bottom that is not shown in the photo, to stabalize the bracket ?

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I '2nd' the CS130  alt. Being smaller , it'd probably save a few knuckles and bandaids !

My dad fabbed this some 40 plus years ago. It's in a WD frame.

Use something newer and physically smaller than an old Delco. There's not much room in that area on a D-19.

I agree with the good Doctor. A "CS" series or even the Denso pint size Alternator would be a much better fit in that particular application. One thing when fabbing Alternator mounting brackets, always make sure the Alternator is as straight and aligned with the other pulleys as possible. A crooked or misaligned Alt will eventually prematurely wear out the mainshaft bearing wiping out the Alternator inside. Another little trick if using the larger "SI" series Delco's, and the fan interferes with any sheetmetal, you can run the Alternator without the fan. That Alt will never have to work that hard on a Tractor to where it will overheat. In the case of interference, its better to use one of the smaller Delco cousins like the CS122 or a Denso as mentioned.  HTH

In answer to Steve.ill. Yes the strap extends to the bottom of the frame rail and there is a second bolt down there.  Just didn't show in that pic.

I just did one, got the alternator at our local alternator shop used a small alternator and yes front bolt is a bear. No change on bracket used the generator pulley with 3 shim washers behind pulley and machined the pulley so the nut would go on far enough. PM me if you want the phone number for the alternator shop.
