Anybody know the 3pt lift capacity (#lbs@24”behindHitch) for the 7010-7080 tractors? Do all of these tractors have the same spec for it? Tractordata.com list most of them at 6680lbs. Thanks

At 7080 s/n 3705 they went to 8200 lbs lifting power. The internal lift cylinder was 5 inch diameter instead of 4 1/2" diameter. This would have been late 1979. As I remember it, the 7045 and 7060 had this as an OPTION, also beginning in late 1979. No other 7000 series would have had this option. The dead give-away was the top link to the 3-point hitch was very heavy-duty. The lift arm housing was also a bit beefier, which to most observers, they would have to have a standard lift sitting beside the heavy lift to see this difference.

So I just compared my 77’ 7040’s 3pt lower arms to my late 79’ 7060 sn7635. The 7040’s arms have an outer cast housings where the sliding eyelets(hookup arms)reside. Then those cast housing are welded to a flat rectangular metal stock that extends back to tractors rear-end housing mountings where they’re welded to mounting eyelet.
My 7060 has a full length cast metal arm housing from end to end.

They made a running change from a welded arm to a cast steel arm. Stronger ?? Maybe.....I'd bet as strong, but probably less costly to make. Nothing to do with the heavy duty lift package. No maroon tractor had this.

So did the 8070 have the larger diameter cylinder as the 7080? The 3rd member link is much heavier on our 8070 than the 3rd members that came with our 8050's? Just wondering, if I pull the 3pt lift lever on any of our 70xx-80xx tractors, it either raises the lift arms or the front end, whichever has less resistance. It's a good system. Leon B MO

8070 has heavy lift as STD equipment. Optional on the 8050.

Not to hijack the post, but what would cause a 7030 to have the 3 point stuck all the way up (or maybe even all the way plus some?) Came to me as a salvage tractor. Hasnt settled down in 3 years. (My others will in between uses) linkage seems free. Dont want to put a loader bucket and push down if it could be something worse then sticky from sitting.

Engine OFF. Crack the line that goes to the lift cylinder on one end and see if it goes down. I say you have a stuck spool or linkage holding the spool in.
