We watch a lot of old movies including "Cheyenne" and "Death Valley Days". Have noticed at the beginning where they tell you if there is "violence", etc. there is an entry saying "outdated cultural depiction". Now, what the heck does that tell you?  We already know it is an old program. Maybe not enough profanity or sex? Never noticed that terminology until recently.

Guess I'm just blissfully ignorant about political correctness, or was. Now I'm educated. But we will still watch all those improper shows.

Man, they FILL an entire screen of 'disclaimer krap' before every episode of 'Gilligan's Island' !
Ironically they don't do that before the 'evening newscasts' !!!!

I still think, in my older mind, the best ever event on a t.v. show was???  When Sammy Davis JR. kissed Archie Bunker!  On the show, "All in the Family".  Tell me what would happen in the TODAY world there?

In today's TV Rawhide would be about 2 gay cowboys! Wonder what Clint Eastwood says about that scenario?

I guess I haven't paid any attention about the disclaimer stuff.  I'll have to look one of these days.  Usually it's time for more water or something to eat.

My kids constantly get exposed to gays on cartoons now , it sickens me.

Its all about sexual preference, why should my kids have to think about unnatural sex during cartoons.

There are SO many GOOD shows that are old ones.  Back when morality meant something and people were basically good.
My youngest grand daughters like watching the old cartoons a lot better than the new junk.  The second youngest (Charlotte 10) can do a mean imitation of Woody Woodpecker and Porky Pig!

LOL DrAliis, isn't it funny in a town called Hooterville, we never did see any naked boobies while the girls were swimming around in the railroad's water tank? They would always swim over close to the wall and hang onto the top edge.

Back in the day, by grandpa and grandma had a wooden cattle tank. I remember that the green algae would grow thick along the wall. They can swim in it if they want, but not me. Somebody has to hold the towels.

Been watching The Untouchables here. They have been running them for 8 hours on Sunday. And Dragnet on the same Chanel for an hour. If I can find the complete shows on DVD I'm gonna buy them.

Even though this is an old post

the entertainment effect is still there.
