I watched a flock of geese headed SW this evening, but the V was backwards, meaning that the widest part of the wedge was leading the way, and the point was following ShockedShocked . I've never seen this arrangement before .

Maybe they were transgender?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

LOL....ducks follow each other , off to the side which is one side of the VEE.. you dont have to have both sides... just fly and follow OFF CENTER...  the "inverted" is really two separate flock just looking like they are attached at the back.

the BIG question is "Do you know why you dont FOLLOW a duck " ( picture flying behind his ass !!)  Wink

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Have you ever noticed that one leg of a goose V is longer than the other?  Know why?

they do this because they are always changing leaders,,,from one side to the other,,,when the lead goose gets tired they slide the draft up one from one side,,,if you have ever seen them with a short side that side has either just started or is just ending,,,the leader is always changing and the rest are in the draft,,,,they kinda seesaw back and forth,,,,they can fly for miles and miles this way because they share the load so the leader is causing the draft and never really gets worn out,,,,,so the other birds are resting in the draft waiting to lead

at least thats my story to why geese fly in a V

PS;,,,where do ya think nascar learned it fromShocked
