I'm not meaning to step on any toes here.  I don't think the tractor driver  did this on purpose.  Maybe it is just a horrible accident.

I saw one news story that said the tractor he was trying to pull the wagon with was way to small. I pull a couple of hay rides every year, I make absolutely sure my tractor has way more a%@ than the load I'm pulling. You are 100% correct though I'm sure he had no intention of hurting anyone. It's going to be a real mess now sorting it all out.

My thoughts the same on tractor size. I like to do them as well, use the 185 or 200 for safety reasons and only (1) wagon. One of the older gentleman wanted me to use the wd45 this year. I almost did, then thought it through a little about going down a few of the hills. My insurance company never really gave me an answer if they cover hayrides off the farm when I called in. My thought was that they were notified, gave them the (3) dates that I was doing the rides and hoped I didn’t need to do more.

I even made up a safety chain.

What a lot of people don't know is their insurance MAY only cover them on their own property. I checked mine several years ago and NO it did not cover me on the road or transporting it to my property in Reynolds county. I had to add a rider on my policy to cover myself if driving the tractor any where but on my ground. It doesn't cost hardly anything, but heaven forbid you don't have it and there's a problem, when the lawyers are done you won't or never will have a dime to your name
