Wife got up as always does and as usual goes to release the hound to do his morning business. And as usual she just opened the door and out he went. She has done this twice in past where he got sprayed by skunks in the yard close to the house as she will NOT look first before turning him loose. So this morning not unlike any other the mutt walks out on the stoop a small Fox Pup walks up nonchalantly as if just another day and looks at the Dachsy, they eye each other an instant and BAM, the race is on. Wife is yelling I have to get up and go chase down the dog SHE let loose. Dog is confused, Fox is gone in a flash and ol short legs(and 14) just could not catch but he was in 'Tracking' mode sniffing everything. he made a dash to the house and crapped in the front yard still unsure of what to do further. Was kinda comical.

that odd you bring that up.. Wife got up today and looked out and said a fox pup was setting on the porch table eating the cat food left over from yesterday !! TOOK OFF FAST. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

Now gets MORE comical The little bustard is territory marking, POOPING everywhere close to house, even one on front porch. What I thought was strange was were persimmon seeds in the scat, Then I thought NOT Fox, Coyote, then saw the critter and sure enough a small lanky Grey Fox reddish hues underside more gray to upper Puffy Bushy tail. Never knew them to eat much vege material but guess hungry is hungry and ours are ripe/dropping.

| Well spoke to Mo Dept of Conservation rep, he believes the critter has distemper and needs to be removed from the breeding pool. Some time in next week will stalk it down and remove it. |
