I have had trouble swinging mine into place...I admit am older now...besides being unbalanced in its swing the pin doesn't want to line up....this is a 1964 and has no carrier in the auger tube for he shaft..and quite worn...appreciated any suggestions...Mark

I imagine the hinge and hinge pin are worn, loose or bent.

Did that year not have carrier bearing. The E I have does have a carrier bearing holding up bin auger it appears to be intact but sheet metal that's its bolted to is gone.

Mine is 1964 and no carrier bearing in the auger itself...hard to pull the auger overcenter and guide the parts together...Mark

On the later ones there was a ? Shaped rod that went through a hole and lifted the tube auger up to help get started on the drive. My 67 has one but my 64 doesn’t.

Are you certain that there's no build up of grain dust in the "hinge" area ? We ran an "A"  and a straight "F" with that fool-proof unloading system with none of the issues your having, and sadly, the F was pretty much worn out front to back INCLUDING  the 'replacement' engine Wink

No, the E is a pain in the @## compared to other models. And the little hanger was not much help.         MACK

I have a 67 E and it's a little bit of a pain to get the auger swung out and on the drive. Probably because of 50+ years of service...
