I have a disk mower attached to my 7010 and the 3 pt won't lower. It has plenty of weight obviously. It has set overnight and not creeped down. It has always creeped down in the past, so even if it was a cable problem, it should creep down? I found the below post from Dr Allis and it suggests that my traction booster is stuck. I have not moved this lever since early in the spring and it is all the way forward. One odd thing that has happened now is that my 3 pt lever is moving freely like the cable is not attached, but I don't see anything loose. The lever has always moved hard and I suspected corroded cable in the past. I have no idea how to tackle the traction booster problem. I also have a cab. Any hints?
I also have the problem of removing this hay mower that is sticking up in the air. Is there any trick to releasing the pressure so that it goes down so I can remove it? I don't want to be between the mower and tractor when I do this either. Can I disconnect the cable and pull the end up to release oil pressure as suggested below assuming I block the hay mower up with wooden blocks?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Here is old post on 7000 series:
A 3 point hitch that keeps raising, the usual suspect is the Traction-
Booster plunger being pushed in or stuck in. On a model 7000 tractor it
is the very outside vertical spool. There is a finger that pushes it
down. There needs to be daylight between the finger and the spool.
Linkage rusty and sticking or spool rusty and sticking. The spool can be
grabbed near the very end and pulled clear up to release oil pressure
to the lift cylinders. The leaking cylinder is just a result of old age.
