Hello,

I have some questions regarding the PTO on our 160. I believe it is a non live PTO meaning it should stop with the clutch pedal and shift in and out like shifting any other gear on the tractor.

Our PTO doesn't respond to the clutch at all and can only be shifted in and out at idle speed by quickly and forcefully moving the handle into position.

We will have the tractor in the shop this fall to address these issues and was hoping someone may have an idea of what has happened so we can price out parts and figure out availability before we tear into it.

We will also be redoing the clutch in this tractor during the fall, what is the best supplier for clutch parts?

Thanks,

Erik Fellenz

The 160 has a two-stage clutch.  Let it out half-way, and the pto should be turning.  The second half of the travel starts the wheels turning.

sounds like the clutch is gone.  Someone in its past did a lot of clutching with the pto on
