Hi I'm looking for the size of the crankshaft front oil seal for my C ; Engine Number is CE 71315 It is a year 1947. The seal reference according to AGGCO, should be 70206953. But i can't find it on the market. Does anyone have the size of the seal? or Where i could find the size of the seal? Do you know if it a lip seal as these days and do i need to put a speedy sleeve to avoid leak? The tractor number on the gear box is C 50953. It seems that, may be, there are 2 seals together. One for oil, the other one for dust ( felt seal)? |

I have a cork seal leftover from a C gasket set. It's not cut real square, but the measurements are 1.81" OD, 1.41" ID, 0.125" thick. The factory setup sandwiches the seal into a housing. Converting to a lip seal with a speedi-sleeve seems to be the most popular route. The spiral grooves in the crank will destroy a lip seal without the sleeve. Based on the dimensions of the seal, using just the felt from seal assembly 70226620 (better availability) may work also. Are you sure that the 70226620 , have same size than 70206953? |

Does a wide of 0.530" could be put on the place ? Not to wide? instead of the original 0.25" wide

Just the felt portion of 70226620 may be close enough to 70206953. Take it as an idea, not a tried and true solution.
0.53" is the thickness of the entire 70226620 seal assembly. You would only be using the felt portion (removable), which will be closer to 0.25". Again, this is only an idea. You've probably sorted this out already, but I did get an opportunity to try out my idea above. Used only the felt ring from seal assembly 70226620 in the front crank seal housing on my C... Google "226620 seal" it is out there. That is the original number the "70" was added by AGCO much later. ------------- CA, WD, C, 3 Bs, 2 Gs, WC, I-400, 914 |
