30 to 32 psi at full throttle.

Mine is running about 25 psig idling cold. After using the brush chopper for a while I noticed it was only about 5 psig. If I throttled it back down to idle, it went down to almost nothing.

Yea, I would be looking into that.  You might have a plugged tube/gauge so it might be wise to buy/barrow a test gauge and see if there is a difference in readings before doing anything else.  I don't know if that model still uses the bypass filter or switched to the full flow, but if it uses the bypass make sure the vertical tube thats in the filter base is still there and didn't come out with the last oil filter change.  Good luck

Sounds like mine. It was overhauled before I got it, they didn't replace the cam bearings. It is a full flow filtration system. My solution is to use Rotella T 30 weight, and a quart of Lucas every oil change. I have used the tractor very hard this summer on the brush hog, reclaiming CRP land, and have had no problems. The engine uses no oil, and has great power. However, be forewarned , rods for that engine are about $200 the last, time I saw
something posted about them. Also when you have been working it hard, especially brush hogging, check your radiator screen often, and let it idle at 1/4 throttle for few minutes before pushing throttle completely up. HTH
