| What temperature should a normal operating temp for a 6140? It has the 3cylinder diesel engine. While bush hogging w/ a 5' mower in 90+ degrees, I'm running at about 100 deg. centigrade(212 deg F) |

Generally runs 80*C. The only time mine ever goes above that is when chaff from goldenrod and the cow parsnip seeds start getting past the screen and begin to get thick in the radiator fins and then I don't push it any further, I go back and use a leaf blower to blow that crap out of the radiator fins. Otherwise, unless going through high weeds and brush uphill most of the time and it gets to about 85*C, it stays at 80*C. Of course it may also be determined by whatever heat range is of the thermostat in it now. That said, same thing happens with my WD45. Once the temperature gauge starts climbing, it's time for PTO off, lower engine speed and back to the barn for a cleanout. I wish I could get the bush hogging done earlier and more often, but life dictates when I can mow. Most times nowadays, the weeds are a good foot or more over my head while I'm sitting of the tractor seat. Definitely not the ideal time to knock 'em down... Also maybe have to get the gas-powered leaf blower fixed, way less down time that way!  ------------- I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250! |

I also think a brush bar of the right design would help keep the chaff from bring sucked into the radiator area. But, ...life dictates.  ------------- I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250! |

| Thanks - I have used a leaf blower but maybe need to do a better job. I agree that the weeds get too tall before I can get to them. |
