Browsing the local O'Reilly's parts site for this switch, and there's a $20-25 variation in the switch depending if it's the "front door" or a "rear" door Confused. Yes, they are different part #'s, but what might be the difference between the front ant back doors Ouch ?? My truck only has 2 doors WinkWink. Thanks

Take the cover off the door and find the switch.  If it closes when the door is closed, pull the wires off and twist them together and tape them up.  If it's normally open then just pull the wires off and tape off the ends.

Many problems in doors are usually caused by a bad ground.  You may want to troubleshoot a little before you spend money on parts you don't need.

Lotsa WD-40 on the door catch, that's where the switch is, and it's prolly just sticking..

I always thought a door was  a door NOT a JAR  !!!

As to WHY the fancy computer doesn't display door OPEN, is anyone's guess..

ajar and open are both 4 letter words, though not the ones I'd like to say to the 'engineers' that figure a door is a jar !

ok, if the truck was 'oil sprayed' or 'undercoated' , the waxy stuff could have migrated to the switch and 'gummed' things up....spraying brake cleaner and opening /closing the door a few times may fix it...
