I am in the never ending process of restoring this tractor and was working on the deluxe seat area. I ordered new seat cushions and that little rubber bumper from a big name supplier. Its Agco part #229703. I envisioned this bumper being only about a half inch long but the new one arrived and it was 2" long and a 1 1/2 in diameter. Is this right?? Thanks, Ryan

No, that's way too big.

That is for the seat pan frame to come up against (at the rear) when the seat is in the down position. I remember it being very short and flat, like less than 1/2" tall. Most tractors don't have them anymore.

My 1958 D17 Diesel still has one this is what it looks like:

My series II D15 just has the remnants of one with the rubber missing the outline in the paint shows where it had been:

My Series IV D17 looks like it had something shaped quite different than the old "Button":

As soon as I saw it I thought something didn't look right plus the threaded part wouldn't even fit through the factory hole. Thanks for clarifying. Ryan

I have a D-17 Series II and Series IV both with the deluxe seat. Neither one had a button bumper, however there was a place to install one. So, I ordered a couple from DJ's and I installed them both. Seems like a better ride. My 2 cents on the topic.

I"m pretty sure that the 70229703 bumper was for the standard equipment metal seat pan, not for the deluxe or super deluxe seats. Look up the seat suspension for a 210 and 220 (which never had a metal seat pan) and you don't find that bumper even listed.
