Are the fuel tanks for a D17 gas and diesel the same?  They are different part numbers in the book, but what are the differences between the two?  I had first thought the gas one didn't have a port for the return line, but it looks as though they both do.  Are they interchangable?

You can use a diesel tank on a gasser and just plug the return port. You must have a return port for a diesel.

Don't think gassers had the return from factory. Maybe replacements do...one size fits all?

The parts book drawings show each one has a return port, but probably easier to use the same drawing for each tank.
