Why ? The original brakes work pretty well.

I thought about it a while back. I only wallowed it around in my mind. In my mind I came up with a way to mount a cylinder at brake bands. Master cylinders would not be a problem mounting either. What was my reason for doing so? To be different because I have an active mind that is different and that is my golf or sitting in a bar.

I think the brakes would easier to use as not as much force on the brake peddle, also the peddle would not travel as far.  My B stops pretty good moving forward but not so good in reverse.  My yard has some inclines in the back that I need to back down and drive up forward to mow,  sometimes stopping going backward down hill becomes a challenge to get enough pressure on brake peddle.

DickL, I'm kinda mulling over using 2 brake master cylinders, 1 for each side,, and either a short hydraulic cylinder, or have begun thinking of a way to mount regular wheel cylinders, just in the thinking stage currently. Thanks, Tim

All you really need is a GOOD material to stop the tractor and most of what a person gets any more is the foreign junk. If you want some good material installed on your brake bands, then contact me and I'll take care of that problem for you. Have sold many brakes to folks and never a problem with the good stuff...Rick

I agree with Rick.... its not that you need MORE PRESSURE.. your just going to break something... What you need is BETTER LININGS.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

It is silly to take a perfectly good B and lower it and make it so you can't really farm with it. Or to put a V8 engine in one.

If you don't have a problem with doing the above then why would you have a problem with putting hydraulic brakes on one.

It is using your mind to create something to prove to yourself you can do it for one thing.

Actually that kind of thinking is how improvements were made to the C to come up with the CA.

I personally applaud anyone that thinks out side of the box when working on anything. They were the people I tried to hire over the years in my factory. The problem for me was those people are always looking for a new adventure and were gone in a few years. Which is really a good thing for them to broaden their abilities.

Nothing wrong with a good imagination Dick........ the problem is thinking that will FIX a bad set of brakes.  If you cant stop a B with FOOT BRAKE PRESSURE, then you have a brake lining problem.......... I modify things all the time.. but you have to start with GOOD parts.

Well, that kinda' fits me quite well. Always comin' up with somethin' different. Like Dick says, keeps the mind sharp! Nuttin' wrong wit' dat! My Antique cars as well as my Tractors all have somethin' different bout' em'. Some small upgrades or improvements, some large improvements. My wiring systems are the same way...  LOL!

Thank you, Dick L and Steve in NJ for supporting thoughts of making changes!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, If you don't post about them I won't be able to see ideas from a like minded fellow. On the open internet you can't cut your fingernails without someone saying your doing it wrong. We gotta love them also.

I've thought about that one too.  I was thinking more along the line of a small disc brake setup to replace the original drums. Then, if a small enough caliper, the whole assembly could fit in the original cavity.  Might be worth talking to Wilwood to see if they're interested in making a conversion.  They make custom brakes for many applications and they're USA made.  Maybe look at also getting a conversion made for the notorious WD/WD45 brakes.   Get Steve working on this through B&B!! LOL

A B with fresh linings stops pretty good. If ya have a later B they are foot brakes and pretty darn simple. Now the problem I have is keeping the darned mice out of there. They seem to think it is an attractive place to live.
