Guess I'm getting drug down there this comming Friday. Not selling anything, just looking. Wondering if the Mo. Gals will be dressed for warm weather. Hope so. Their usually far more interesting to look at than the junk at the market. Ya just gotta bee careful and answer the old gal when she has a question, not bee gauking at the gals at that second.

Dealing with Headlights seems to be complicated.

Guys Rutlege and Colony flea markets are a giant waste of time. Went to both today Probably won't go back. Only thing that saved the day-- Its definitely AC country. Lots of them all over. Saw 1 of the nicest D21's I have seen in years. Now when you are in Missouri and a sign says 1 lane bridge, you better believe they mean 1 lane bridge. Combine heads have to be end pulled thru them. Ok old gal says she had a good time. So it Must have been an ok day. Ok guys am home now. 401 mile round trip. Old gal drove all the way. The roads in Missouri were all blacktop, but they were just about wide enough for 2 Omish buggy's to meet and pass. Man were they terriable. Headed for Okabojie on the 4th of July weekend. At least the roads are good. More bad news today. The flea market at the State Fairgrounds in Des Moines will no longer be held. It's been going on over 50 years in the same place. The new fair manager has added on to the 4H building and they have more than doubled the rent for the building. Each booth used to cost $35.00 per weekend to rent space. Now the same space will well over $100.00 for the same space. That will not work.

I used to really enjoy the fair, but Gary Slater's take seems to be food on a stick, rides, and concerts. Any more for some odd reason I enjoy camping there more than the fair itself. The waiting list to get a reserved camp spot is over 20 years long. They've bought a lot of the ground along E University, put in a nice new gate too, but don't seem to have any plans to add any camping. I suppose there's more money in parking cars...

was reading somewhere...don't remember where it was...a city invited local farmers in to sell their produce, but charged them quite a bit of money for the spaces, then put in a bunch of city rules...then someone else invited all them farmers to their big parking lot...free spaces and only rule was to clean up afterwards. the city tried to shut them down but failed. everyone is happy now cept the mayor! our town also offers free spaces for the local farmers to sell their produce there once a week. only stipulations is has to be grown locally and also clean up afterwards. they did catch someone that had shipped in produce from another state and they were ousted from selling there.
