Today, I stopped and saw Alex at A & W Tractor Repair of Cecil, WI.[/IMG,Neat looking....felt like I went back into history. Alex has a bunch of inventory for sale with an abundance of past Allis-Chalmers parts lists, price lists, part references, and other collectibles at the shop. What I didn't take pictures of was his repair shop.

Thank you Alex for taking time out of your busy schedule to show me around!

Great set up I can see how you felt like stepping back in time. I never got to experience AC dealers here in Australia like you guys did in the US. Hope to get to Alex's place one day. Hope he has plenty of inventory! Seeing how young he is he needs enough parts to keep it going for another 40+ years!

Thanks Randy for the pics,  And Alex too for having such a place.
Alex, Like your counter, but I am wondering if it hasn't been modified some and put in upside down...?
Here is my counter from an AC dealership...   Look at the book section it has an angle to it sloping inward...   Okay, mine looks like it was modified some.  As I recall, there were 4 of these counters in G&G of Luck Wi. and this one had lots of parts pass over it.

In another old dealer, we got the swing out trays from under the counter, but we did not get the counter there itself, should have but didn't and later the building burned down... along with the old Allis-Chalmers neon sign. Cry
I believe I seen an AC sales book that you could order counters and parts bins from and had several designs.
Wish I could turn back the dial to the 60's and 70's when the dealerships were still flourishing.
