Restoring a 1965 D15 Series II and changing all the fluids. I've got 10 gallons of Rotella HD hyd/trans fluid for another project that is going to wait. Is it ok to use it in the D15 everywhere except final drive? And I've already got 80w-140 if it'll work in the final drive.

The Data Sheet for it looks like it should be ok. I don't see the AGCO spec but the JD J20C (Hy-Gard) is one of the ones there.

Here's what i have from a Shell spec sheet

AGCO (Deutz-Allis) Powerfluid 821XL, PF821 Allis-Chalmers 257541

And i take it those specs are updated versions, and backwards compatible, with 249680.

I assume Dexron III would be the current replacement for Type A.

Use 821 or = in everything except engine.        MACK

Agree with MACK..... you will be fine........... You have to watch the NEW transmission fluids ( auto) compared to the old A or F specs... A LOT of the new stuff ( DEXTRON / MERCON) is VERY SPECIFIC/ Addatives /Synthetic and would not be a good replacement for GENERIC type F or A....... You hydraulic oil would be better for steering.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Do like Mack says. I have 821 in everything except the engine on my D17D.
