What's the best to make new battery cables?

Seems I've seen on here that welding cables work for battery cables, what ggauge is best for a 2 battery 12 volt system in a 6060 , thanks

I Use Fine Wire Welding Cable  I  Use 2/0 For All Diesel Tractors And 6V

Safest is to go with the factory cable size or one larger. We have a good electric house in Indianapolis that makes em up to order. For my old cars they have mail order houses that reproduce them. I think I used Steve NJ who advertised on this site as B&B Custom Circuits.

I prefer not to use the self made, clamp-on ends and get the correct, crimped-on ends.

We work on a lot of big trucks at work and they have crimp tools. Most big trucks went to batteries with a marine type threaded stud terminal and that made life a lot easier. I get aggravated with the old lead terminals, seems like quality is all over the place.

Here our NAPA store makes them. They have been in business since the 1940's.

I use 2/0 cable from Napa and their solder on ends.
