I know this has been discussed before, cant remember the answers, does a 8000 series tractor have hyds enough to run a 7200 vac planter? My 8050 can easily run my hyd sprayer pump, but when i lift the booms i loose pressure for just a second, not a big deal.
Thinking about a planter for next year.
Thanks, Randy

Is your planter a12 row (1vac hyd motor) or 16 row (2 vac hyd motors)?
Here’s a link from prior discussion on this forum about it.

Thanks for the link, I have not bought a planter yet, just looking so far. I am used to a finger unit and like them, might have to look at a blue one.

Thanks, Randy

Funny this came up, just talked to neighbor today, he asked if his 8070 would run a 16 row White, I think he has a 12 row now but maybe just 8 row.

In my opinion, a pto hydraulic pump is the way to run planter blowers. I have a white planter and bought the pto pump with the planter. It maintains constant blower speed no matter what the engine/pto speed is. Leaves tractor hydraulics for other planter functions. It's simple and reliable.

I will ask if an 8070 could run a Kinze 3800 ASD? I would stick with the finger pickup meters and ground drive. IF, if I got one, it would be with the Air Seed Delivery(ASD) that blows the seed to each row.

Right now, the 8050 2 wd PS pulls a 16 row Kinze RF @5 mph. And it seems to do it easy. I have wondered if the 8070 could hand a 24 row.
