| We have a Cub Cadet 46” ZTR. The blades are $50.00 a pair at Home Depot. They do a very nice job but they’re very thin and wear out quick. Any other options y’all can think of? I go through these like crazy. I’m not the operator just the maintenance guy. |

| Check out Oregon aftermarket blades. The Gator blades are thicker than normal blades and will last longer. |

Thats the problem with that new chimna crap---thinner so it dont last! ---- I dont think you will like them gator blades either---They were on one of my mowers when I got it and after 1 pass across the ditch---I took them off and they went in the junk.All they did was plug up in wet grass and I gotta mow wet grass so got regular blades---problem solved! Check if any of the Woods blades will fit and go with them. I think woods has blades for other brands. The problem I find with all blades is that they are too soft to hold edge for more than a couple hours!--- I want HARD blades! ---- an no I don't care if they are dangerous! ---or thats what I been told!--not that I believe it! lol! ------------- http://machinebuildersnetwork.com/ |

A few years back, I was at the farm running my folks Toro zero turn.....theirs is a homeowner grade. Anyway, hit a root or something, heard a loud clunk, but it kept cutting, albeit poorly, with a goofy looking turf in it's wake. Back at the barn, took a look and was shocked to see the tip of one blade pointing straight down. As in 90 degree angle. Took all the blades off and they had all eroded from the back of the blade......hub side of the lift wing behind the blade's edge. Erosion was just a hole. Blade of the metal from front to back had worn thin. Took those in to the dealer......he asked if I wanted another set. Another set of those? No....what else you got? Showed me commercial mower blades. Price was something like $12 to $15 for regular OEM blades.....or $20 or so for the commercial blades, which were thicker, deeper front to back. They went on and no more troubles. One other thing I noticed......they had their mower set to about 2.5 inches.....so cutting close to the ground. They hit every mole hill, stick and anything else with the blade, so it was constantly dull and needing sharping. I mow with mine set to nearly 4 inches and I almost never hit anything, and my blades stay sharp far longer. But I also run commercial grade blades.

I have a Case-IH compact with 60" deck that uses left hand blades that are hard to find found some woods blades that work at this place reasonable price and fast shipping.

Don't log it but around 400hrs on last set Oregon Fusion Gators (61 in Zero). They have OEM size for less. These are 1/2in wider and 1/4in thick VS 3/16
Found number I wanted and went to Amazon,cheapest source I found then.

If you have a dealer or a dealer that carries Cub, chances are they will have the OEM blades. Not the big box store but a specific dealer. That's what I had to do with my Woods. No one else had the thicker blades. ------------- D14, D17, 5020, 612H, CASE 446 |

didn't last any longer than regular blades and more trouble to sharpen
