Need a fuel shut off solenoid for a 1964 D-21 part No. V836640926 ( is available from dealer ) $325 seems a lot any other options, any help be great

go to your local fuel injection pump shop, and ask for a stanadyne 26214, and the needed parts to install it. It's kinda unusual for them to fail, so you may have other issues.

Talking to my local AC mechanic last week, he says they tend to stick if it has been sitting for a while unused. Use a screwdriver handle to tap the top of the injector pump so it clicks when you turn the key. He said it can be cleaned up if you remove the top cover from the pump.
I will find out for sure on mine this afternoon.

Yep, mine didn't want to fire up after having the winter off, the stud of the solenoid was loose in the pump housing. I snugged it up a bit and she roared to life.
