I got a nice e-mail from my health care insurance provider yesterday telling me that because of a significant reduction in claims to be paid out due to the Covid 19, they are reducing our monthly premiums by 25%!! I just talked to a friend of mine and he told my he will be getting a refund on part of his auto insurance premium due to a reduction in claims because no one is driving much! Any of you guys getting this "bonus" too?

Just got he statement for the auto ins. It's $200 less than the last time, but MI did some ins. readjustments so that is probably the reason.
Phil, why do you have Health Ins?

We have provincial health coverage provided for seniors by Alberta Health for basic stuff. I have Alberta Blue Cross which is an additional plan that I pay a small premium for. It covers most meds, hospital costs, dental, eyeglasses etc that Alberta Health doesn't cover.

I just sent them $1020.00 for 6 months insurance on vehicles. I hope they return some. There is some talk about pausing health insurance premiums untill folks get back to work, but they would still have coverage.

Well Tom, you don't say how many vehicles, what vehicles, and what type of coverage, so pretty vague. Here in MI, before any pandemic related rebates or our "pending" insurance reform coming this summer, I'd say an average priced vehicle, even as it gets up to 8-10 years old, if you still want to cover it fully, $500 collision deductible, will still cost you ~$125 per month! So that's $750 per vehicle for 6 months. We have the most expensive insurance in the 50 states. Not sure where we will be after the "reform" kicks in.

There is some talk about pausing health insurance premiums until folks get back to work, but they would still have coverage. | My employer is paying 100% of our health insurance for April and May along with some other assistance measures, but I work for a healthcare system with a self-administered health plan. So it is happening within employers but haven't yet heard of insurers suspending premiums in a broad sense. I just renewed Progressive auto policy and haven't heard of any rebates from them yet.

In ILLINOIS i had full coverage on a 2013 F150 and a 2019 Ford Flex and they were $750 EACH for a year ............ and i just got about 30% knocked off of that by switching to PROGRESSIVE.

So, about half price. Yep, I lived in OH for about nine years. Insurance was ~60% of what we'd been paying in MI for the same vehicles.
