Any tricks on holding the rod from turning while trying to unscrew the yoke from the end? There is no flat, on either end of the rod. When in the retracted position, it is almost completely inside the cylinder, so I don't want to mar the rod or it will tear up the seal. (and I just resealed it!) I thought about putting like a strip of inner tube or something on pipe wrench jaws....?

I use my large bench vise with a 2x4 over each jaw and the cylinder rod in the middle. It may need a little heat. | For replacement of seals I always leave that end alone and start on the inside end of the rod. But i am guessing your not planning on going that far ? So your on the right track. Maybe a rap of the inner tube and clamp it in a vice,and some heat if the vice is not enough. |

That's a good idea. 10-4 on the heat. Just don't want to nick the rod.
Ray, the seals have already been replaced. As you said, didn't need to take the yoke off for that as I came at it from the other way. Then after a couple days of use, the yoke broke and needs to come off. (Technically, not a typical yoke, but I'm keeping the story simple) Thanks guys.
