Bought a new electronic cutout relay from DJS tractor parts.  Stupid question but before I go hooking this up has anyone else ever used ones of these ? I am in need of redoing my electrical system.  Love the mice.  Since I am I will also going back to the original light switch.  It pulls in and out fine, little dusty/dirty.  Replaced the field resistor with a new one.  As for the wiring do I wire everything up according to the diagram in my book.  The only difference is my WD has a distributor ignition and not the magneto.  Any tips tricks or anything else I should do when I rewire this ol working gal up so she runs.  Thought about just splicing and taping the wires but I figured I might as well do it right. I have a new wiring harness from DJS as well(not the real expensive on. just the basic)  Bought a real expensive one before and the wire coverings just did not last. is there a more complete wiring diagram that shows wires on the gennie as the book shows 2 wires but I have 2 post on the new cutout and 2 post on the gennie.  Just wanting to do it right as so I have no issues. Trying to keep her in somewhat a original looking order. She is a working show tractor in all her glory. Sorry for the novice questions.  I have rewire her once before but just curious if anyone has any better/easier lasting ideas.

Thank you.

If it's like this one, the cutout should be marked.  Short wire goes from A terminal on generator to A or Arm. terminal on cutout.  Harness wire from there goes to Ammeter.

Second harness wire goes from F terminal on generator to resistor terminal on headlight switch.

It is  a diode in a box and filled with epoxy. I had one go bad but the others I have are good. Just follow the directions.

IMHO, if a cut-out needs replacing, it's a great time to change it to a voltage regulator. You will also need to change the light switch to a simple on/off switch.
It's a great modification to a 6 volt system!
